June and July favorites!

Helloooooooo! I was thinking about something fun to post and I remembered how much I love favorites lists! These are my favorites from June and July in no particular order:

1. New York City

And before you ask, yes a city can be a favorite. I went to NYC alone in June and I miss it so much. It felt perfect and like I was meant to be there. I met some people I will never forget and got to explore NYC with them. I also think it was relevant in June because of the Kicks win, World Cup, and Mamdani. The first day I was there was the Kicks championship parade and it was insane. It really made me feel at least a little apart of it. I MISS IT OMGGGGGGG TAKE ME BACK

2. CD's

I have already mentioned my CD collection on here before but I really love them and my collection has grown so much. I got a walkman right before my phone broke for a week so it was my only form of music for a while. To be so honest I do not know why I like them so much

3. Bass guitar

I did in fact start learning bass in June and I have in fact made it my entire personality. #sorrynotsorry. I taught myself and I really love it! It is so much easier than guitar and looks so cool and is so fun to play. My favorite song to play right now is Wet by Daisy and the Scouts. I LOVE MY BASS!

4. Indie Sleaze

I love this style right now because it looks cool. I have cut up the back of like 5 shirts already and I love cosplaying as a cool and not weird person. What If I start wearing heels to school? Also my fav subsection of indie sleaze is Jenny Humphrey in her emo moment I love her and nobody gets me!!

5. Dyed hair

Dyed hair makes everything cooler like aposlutly everything. I am really close to bleaching my hair tbh. I want like insanely vibrant hair. I really need to to do that actually. Anyways I love dyed hair and people with dyed hair!

Thanks for reading!! lmk if you liked this format!

XOXO,

Sylvie

Mixed Feelings (about school)

The school year is starting for me in about a week now. I have a little over a week but it's basically only a week. I haven't bought school supply's, I haven't even got my schedule yet. I have said before, but I am starting junior year. This is the year I actually have to do well, I actually have to start thinking about my future.

I am historically not a very good student. Before high school, I got Bs and As and somehow got into my competitive public high school (I was appositely not supposed to get it) and my sophomore year I did badly. I skip too many classes for really no reason other than that I can, I got mostly C's all year and ended with a 2. something GPA. Bad, I know.

I want to go to collage. I have money saved, I could go. I am going to. My plan is to do well this year and then write some killer collage essays. I know how much this year will affect my life continuing from it and i'm scared. What if I forget how important it is and stop trying? What if I try my best and still fail?

My only thing is that I need to still go out and see my friends or I will implode. I cannot dedicate every waking hour to school and I won't. I have extracurriculars and I love them and I will not give them up.

Anyways, thanks for reading about my fears for the future lol. I swear this serious stuff is not the only thing I write, the last few posts have been less silly! I want to write more fun stuff, but I am trying to update every day and these are the only things coming to my head right now.

XOXO,

Sylvie

Summer to Fall

It's getting cold where I live. As if it isn't always. I live by the coast to the hottest it gets here is about 80 degrees at the weirdest times of year. This year it was February. In the middle of February, we had a heat wave. It was 85 degrees and the hottest its been all year. I went to the beach with my friends and so did everyone else. I swam in the ocean without a wetsuit, dove under the waves. That's my perfect summer day. In February.

It is currently 64 degrees while I type this and the leaves on the tree outside my window are turning orange. The funny part is that it was colder in July. I was wearing hoodies in my room and commuting to work with a jacket on, taking it off to wear my tank top halfway through the day when the sun finally came out.

We don't get seasons in California. That is my one and only gripe with it. Sometimes I wish for the seasons on the east coast, the ones that make sense. Here the only changes that stay the same each year is when the sun sets and rises.

Much like all of life, you learn to love it. I love the random heat waves exactly when I need them, breaking up the cool weather and seeing everyone gather on the beach. My closet is year round, no need to change it for summer or winter because each week is different. Talking about the weather is actually perfect small talk, it is so unpredictable.

It feels like fall right now but I know that in a couple days i'll be on a boat in a lake with beautiful warm weather, and it will be summer again. Then I will return to the city and fall will return.

FIRST POST! all about me :)

Helloooooooo!!!!!!!! Welcome to my land of sparkles!

I have always wanted to start a blog since I was a kid and I am so super exited to get started.

A little about me and my interests:

I am 16 years old and going into junior year (save me), I live in a city and have a great group of friends. I'm in a band with 5 of my friends and am teaching myself bass (3 months in now lol). I love collecting CD's and I have a growing collection. I love dancing so much, not really as a scheduled activity but like in my bedroom and at party's. Dancing is better than any drug. I love fashion so much and I got to go nyc this summer to study it!

My media favs:

Movies - Oceans Eleven(SO GOOD OMG), Dirty Dancing(the dancing in this movie is unbeatable),        Scott Pilgrim vs. the World(love the fight scenes and editing), and The Perks of Being a Wallflower(like    wow i'm balling)

Music - I love so many different genres and artists! I love my pop girls (Olivia, Chappel, Sabrina) as well as punk(Bikini Kill, Lambrini Girls, Daisy and the Scouts). I also love rock but I mean who doesn't. I'm really into britpop right now, specifically Blur, Pulp and The Cure.

I think that's everything about me for now, thanks for stopping by!
